After completing MD in Anaesthesiology , joined the family hospital (Sridevi Nursing Home) and upgraded the level of Anesthesia services at this hospital. Was amongst the first to start labour analgesia in this part of the world. A few years later took on the responsibility of Head of Dept of Anaesthesia at Apollo Emergency Hospital, Hyderguda, Hyderabad. Developed special expertise in neuro-anaesthesia, Obstetric & Gynec anaesthesia, trauma anaesthesia and anaesthesia for complex plastic & reconstructive procedures.

In the 1990s when there was no concept of emergency medicine in India, designed and implemented the first-ever pre-hospital emergency services and modern emergency rooms. As there were no trained personnel, provided pre-hospital services in ambulances and in-hospital services in the emergency rooms. Then gradually started training doctors, nurses, and paramedics in emergency medicine and this initial core group formed the nucleus around which emergency medical services developed across India
